Terence Hill, originally named Mario Girotti, is an Italian actor, filmmaker, and screenwriter. He was born on March 29, 1939, in Venice, Italy, and grew up in Lomellina. He began acting at a young age, making his screen debut in the film "Vacanze col Gangster" in 1951. He then appeared in several popular Italian films, including "Hannibal" and "The Monsters."
He later became well-known for his roles in spaghetti Western films, often starring alongside Bud Spencer. The duo appeared in several successful films together, including "They Call Me Trinity" and "My Name Is Nobody."
Hill also had a successful career as a filmmaker, directing several films, including "Don Matteo" and "Lucky Luke." In addition to acting and directing, he has also produced several films.
As for his name, Hill adopted it as his stage name in the 1960s, as it sounded more American and was easier for international audiences to remember. His birth name, Odoardo Girotti, is rarely used today.
